= Elara "Ellie" Swift
Matron of the Swift General Store in Mosgaard.

Elara Swift (everyone calls her Ellie) is a human woman in her early thirties with a once-plucky bounce in her step that has been thoroughly worn down by endless waves of adventurers. She has tousled chestnut hair usually tied back with a leather cord, a smattering of freckles across her nose, and callused hands from years of hauling crates and dealing with customers. She wears a practical apron over simple traveling clothes that have seen better days, and a small dagger is tucked visibly into her belt; old habits from her brief adventuring days. Her eyes still spark with wit when she’s engaged, but mostly she looks like someone who has heard “Do you have any healing potions?” one too many times.

She used to be the bright-eyed type who dreamed of the open road -- quick with a tray, quicker with a witty retort, and handy with a pan in a scrap. Life, and a bad run-in with a band of goblins convinced her that running a store in town was safer. Now she’s perpetually burned out from the customer service grind but too stubborn to quit. She still has that underlying warmth and competence, she’ll steer a newbie toward decent gear, but her patience is perhaps a bit too paper-thin.
